"We had a fantastic experience at our recent wedding at the Maynard. Zoe and Jess coordinated everything for us and were super helpful from the beginning. We had our celebrations at the hotel over two days and the end product felt very personal and just how we wanted it. We had a small formal wedding day and a casual party on the following day; the venue was ideal for both and the Chatsworth Suite is really beautiful. The outside space is great and the setting of the hotel is stunning.

Would definitely recommend autumn weddings in the Peak District; the scenery is phenomenal. The food on both days was delicious and a big hit with our guests. I had really hoped for pie at the party and whilst it wasn't on their list of options, we ended up with three amazing pie options with chips, mushy peas and gravy. The pies were 10/10! No stone was left unturned with Zoe and Jess' attention to detail for both days and it really paid off. The hotel rooms are also beautiful and turning it into a 'wedding weekend' helped to make it feel like it didn't go in a flash. Would thoroughly recommend as a venue."

"The second I walked into the Maynard I knew we had to have our wedding their. The whole team have excellent communication from the original booking process, smooth transitions and organisation from the morning getting ready to the end of the day and the food was beautiful. We live in Thailand so have been planning the wedding from abroad but the team at the Maynard have been accommodating with communication, online meetings and answering 1 million questions and requests from me via email. Do not hesitate to book your wedding here, you will not regret it!"

"A year ago we decided to choose the Maynard for our wedding reception, Its a place that we both love to go to. We have had no regrets in our decision , our day was absolutely perfect from start to finish.
The staff, including the wedding coordinator Zoe were so kind , helpful and efficient and made the whole journey effortless.

"When looking at venues to hold our celebrations, choosing The Maynard was a no brainer. I don’t know if it was the stylish more contemporary vibe that still had an old, countryside feel, the lovely views or just the friendless of everyone on first meet, but there was something so special about this place that, even when choosing to “elope”, we knew we wanted to celebrate here.

Big thanks to the staff on the night and the morning after, I didn’t catch the name of the waiters but I remember one bringing me the spare arrival drinks, handing out the canapés and answering questions I had, and in the morning the breakfast waitress and the receptionist were so lovely too, it’s little things like this made us feel well looked after.

The pizzas and canapés were delicious, as expected, lots of compliments from everyone there! We also had lots of kind words about the dj— great vibes from him, they put on requests straight away and definitely understood the assignment! Even let me drunkenly and quite poorly have a singalong myself at one point (which I’m regretting now but will hopefully look back and laugh on that memory soon!)

The Sir Don Bradman Suite was insaaaane. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in such a nice room before! It felt so luxurious and we’ll have to come back and stay there again, on a night where there’s no wedding on of course. And big thanks to you and everyone else in your team for the planning and execution of the day. Everything went so smoothly; our queries were always answered quickly, changes were made with ease and it was lovely meeting you and spending time at the bar and restaurant on our visits before!

All of our guests have had so many nice things to say about the night and the venue. It was the perfect place to celebrate and we’re so grateful for it all."

"From the very first meeting we knew this was the venue for our wedding. We had viewed many in the surrounding areas and nothing compared to the beauty of The Maynard, the hospitality of the staff, and the personalisation offered. As long as we didn't break any H&S regulations, The Maynard were there and ready to make our vision come to life! The Chatsworth suite alone is the perfect room for a wedding breakfast as well as a party in the evening. No detail was too small for the team, and everything mentioned was brought to life. The table layout was a big thing for us, as we wanted that Italian style family dinner on one long table, and The Maynard not only made this happen but did it exactly how we had imagined. We got to know a lot of the events team throughout the planning journey, which was made seamless through the meetings we had throughout with The Maynard, where they made sure to check every detail with us. Jess was our wedding coordinator on the day, and she did a fantastic job, she made sure our vision came to life and noticed small things like if we were enjoying ourselves in the garden after food to check if we wanted to still do the cake cutting when we had originally planned or if we wanted to delay it. Upon arrival from the ceremony, Jess had welcome drinks ready for us, did all of our announcements, and even came round with a selection of the canapes to make sure we got one of each! The day ran smoothly and when we got to the Bridal Suite in the evening we saw that all of our cards, gifts, and two perfect slices of wedding cake had been left out for us in the room. I cannot recommend them enough for your day too! My only comment would be during the wedding breakfast the kitchen shuts to everyone else, which meant our wedding photographer had to wait a long time to have some food, so I would include them in your main course numbers rather than have them order from the bar."

"From our initial viewing of The Maynard we were blown away, it was the 4th venue that we viewed and knew straight away it felt special. The Maynard staff are incredible and went above and beyond from our first initial wedding consultation, right up until the end of our wedding night, we appreciated the wedding cake sent to our room! We'd like to also mention a special thank you to Zoe and Katie for being great at helping organise our wedding, nothing was ever too much. We appreciate all of the hard effort that went in to creating our special day and helping with the quick turn around with the room. We both feel that The Maynard is the perfect wedding venue that incorporates a personal and relaxed approach, we loved our little postcard provided from the staff and also the fact there is only around 20 rooms, which made the post wedding day breakfast feel more homely. All of the food is amazing, all of our guests couldn't stop going on about the fab buffet at the end of the night! It's also great that there is a private garden that displays beautiful views of the Peak District. We were blessed with beautiful weather and got to go up to Curbar Edge for our photos. If you're looking for a wedding in a beautiful venue that is personable and has amazing staff, The Maynard is the place to be!"
